Breaking Update!

As it turns out, the Hearthstone Lounge in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa has been turned into a full-fledged table-service restaurant requiring reservations. As we never quite know how many are going to be in our party, making reservations for this venue is not a viable option.

Never to fear! Silvia is scouting new locations as we speak! We have several possible options in Downtown Disney District. And if none of those work out, we have our trusty fallback of going old-school, returning to the original location of the meet-up 10 years ago: The Picnic Spiral, in which case, we will be moving the meet-up to earlier in the day to beat the heat.

Our knit designer for this year’s pattern has informed me that the Mystery Knitted Cowl pattern is almost ready to be revealed and released. Stay tuned to see it in its glorious debut!

We are adding another level of fun to this year’s festivities by including a stitch marker swap! It was one of the things that I loved about the Stitches Expos…fiber folk dropping by the booth to say high and swap “project jewelry”. Participation is strictly volunteer. We anticipate 12 slumber party princesses and up to 25 Knit Dizzneyteers at the meet-up. Every type of stitch marker are welcome. I’m bringing about 50, so if I see any knitters in the wild, I can give them one too!

We will be starting our day on Sunday 9/17 at rope drop (we hope) at Disney’s California Adventure. And then some time after the meet-up we will venture over to Disneyland. If you plan on joining us in one or both parks, please don’t forget to add your name to the park excursion sign-up for so that I have your contact info.

Can’t wait to see everyone in 2 weeks!
